50th Anniversary
The Editorial Board of the New Zealand Universities Law Review has decided to mark the 50th anniversary of the first publication of the Review in 1963.
In 2013, there will be a dedicated issue of the Review. The theme for the Review will be taken from the Maori saying, Nga tapuwae o mua, no muri, which is translated as “Footprints of the past, to guide (influence, navigate, inform) the future.”
Within that broad framework, subject areas that could be developed might include, but are not limited to:
- Te Tiriti o Waitangi – The Treaty of Waitangi
- Legal education
- The constitution/constitutional change
- Inclusiveness, social justice and social change through the law
- Law reform and the impact of academia
- Internationalisation/Globalisation
- Emerging disciplines: environmental law, law and technology, etc.
The call for papers has now closed. Contributers are reminded that final papers are to be between 7,000–10,000 words (including footnotes) and are due by 30 November 2012. Any queries should be addressed to yana.geary@vuw.ac.nz.
